The wait is over. Tender’s Admin 2.0 has shipped!
Since our launch in January 2009, we’ve learned a lot about how Tender weathers under various conditions. Admin 2.0 is a compilation of improvements that push Tender’s workflow to a new level.
Admin design
The admin area of Tender has been completely redesigned. It’s leaner, meaner and more awesome than ever.

A few of the high-notes:
- Simplified discussion states
- Category sorting
- Sort settings are now per-user. When you come back, it remembers.
- All new forms. Configuring your Tender has never been so beautiful!
- New step-by-step setup guide for new accounts
- Welcome tab on new accounts that guides you through your early days

User specific views
If you toggle the sort settings within Tender’s admin, it will remember where you left off the next time you come back. Instant win.
Pinned items
Pinned items are one of our favorite features in Tender. We love them so much that we pushed them to the front in the top bar of the admin so they’re always visible. Seriously, use them. It will change your life.

Looks sharp boys. Keep it up!
Very slick update! I love the new interface, much more usable.
I’m not sure I understand this phrase: “All new forms. Configuring your Tender has never been pretty!”

Just add a “so” before pretty. ;)

This redesign was looooong pending! Thanks guys, looks good now.
The new design is cool, but I feel that it needs some polishing. The colors seem too dim for me, and I kind of can’t distinguish what are the important/answered tickets, and which are not.
I prefer more minimalistic design, and easier overview of tickets which just came in, but maybe it’s just me..
Looks lovely, when can we apply the design to the front end automatically? :)
The new look and feel is just AWESOME!!
Yes the new design is cool, and there’s lots thats good about it. But ….. the tender interface needs to be easily readable (as well as pretty.
It’s now more difficult to scan at a glance the state of the tenders in the their list form:
The visual cue for the new tenders is great (the blue dot)... but what happened to the visual cues for the other status states? (assigned, open, resolved, etc)
Plus, the tender titles no longer line up because the queues get stuck in front of the titles, and this matters because it’s now harder to easily scan the titles.
The side panel is too dim…. especially for those of us in the office over the age of 40 ( and yes, there’s a bunch of us). Both the queue list and the numbers beside them are too faint (and thin), and fall in the squint zone… and yeah, we could increase the general font size, but then we see less queue information on the screen.
So yes, this another vote to tweek this design to make for an easier overview and readability.
Just found out that in the new design the side panel only lists open tickets, vs changing with the filtering in the queue you have set like they did before. Huh??? Isn’t it more useful to build in more custom options, rather than less???
Look good, but you guys should really add “snippets” of a message like in gmail. This would really help. I hope you guys add this soon.
The “add watchers” functionality when creating a new discussion doesn’t seem to be working.
Thanks for all the feedback. If you have a support related issue, please send it in to support@tenderapp.com
It really is beautiful… Now let’s fix Lighthouse!
um… new user here (though one of my colleagues has already set up some of our tender content).
i log into tender, go to Admin, got the pop-up that Admin 2.0 was here! and clicked to get to this page. and i see you are announcing “New step-by-step setup guide for new accounts” and i think “perfect! that’s where i need to start.”
but then i look around, and i can’t figure out how to GET to it, not here nor on the Admin dashboard page. so:
1) how do i get to it? 2) i think you have a new user usability issue.
thanks in advance for the pointer to 1)!
