Currently on the Tender roadmap

User feedback is an essential part of software development. For many of us, it's the lifeline that polishes our products.

This post is to share what is currently in view on the roadmap for Tender Support.

Watchers

Watchers is a feature that allows users to subscribe to or unsubscribe from a public discussion, as well as invite others to join.

Watchers

Currently, we have all the backend functionality completed. We're just sitting on the UI portion while we tweak the last minute details.

We expect it to roll out to the public in the next week if all looks good during testing.

Groups

Groups are something we've had on the initial roadmap from the start. We are now at the point where we are really happy with the current state of things in Tender. Groups are the first big step on the roadmap.

Groups

Support users will be able to add users to a group, such as a company, giving them access to private discussions that others in their group have created.

Simplifying states

Less is more. The Tender admin area currently has a wide array of discussion states. We would like to roll back the number discussion states to something a little more lean.

Simplified States

That's a lot easier on the eyes and mouse clicks than having to sift through a drop down to find a discussion.

Filters

The UI team hasn't had a chance to get a hold of this one just yet, but it's a feature that we are getting extremely excited about while developing.

Filters

What filters are going to allow is a sense of automated organization, most notably with queues. You set a list of parameters, and everything that comes in matching those settings will be filtered accordingly.

Filters are going to be a huge WIN for support staff teams.

Multiple Lighthouse projects

The ability to have multiple Lighthouse projects within one Tender has been a large recipient of feedback since the start.

Indie developers and small teams have a lot on their plates. Being able to support multiple areas of a product with different Lighthouse projects or that have a category for each products and being able to break that down to the correct ticket workflow is really essential.

This is something we've been hoping to work on and it's finally within our current development scope. Stay tuned for more info.

Can’t wait for the Multiple Lighthouse projects! I’m just switching over to using Tender, and this seemed like a big drawback. I’m a independent Mac developer, currently with 3 products. Anything that you can add that makes that easier to handle is very much appreciated. For example, right now I have a category set up for each job, as well as a fourth category set up that is intended to handle incoming mail to our support email address, as a default place to start private discussions. What would be great for me is if I could add sub-categories to the main product categories (feature requests, bugs, support request, etc). That would be really helpful, and a much better solution than opening up 3 separate Tender accounts, which I can’t justify in terms of pricing for the volume of support I’m handling.

    Thanks for listening! Dan

    At Last—Multiple lighthouse projects!

I hope that pricing of this will stay consistent or at most be a nominal add on.

Multiple Lighthouse projects won’t affect the pricing plans.

Looking good. Can’t wait for filters. They’ll make Tender much more useful indeed. Save all support staff getting bothered by tickets that aren’t relevant to them. Nice work.

Great! Filters look really good – will really streamline the allocation of tickets.
